Some of the Worlds best theme parks are the Los Angeles amusement parks.
However, the San Diego amusement parks are also very exciting, especially the fantastic Aquatic Park the San Diego Seaworld.
The childrens amusement parks, such as Disneyland, and the newer Legoland in San Diego County, are a must for any family traveling with children in Southern California.

BELMONT PARK, SAN DIEGO: This historic beachfront amusement park at W. Mission Bay Drive and W. Mission Blvd, features amusement park rides such as the Dipper, a 1925 roller coaster, the FlowRider, a simulated wave attraction, and the Plunge, a 175 foot long indooor swimming pool.
There are nine other amusement park rides available.

DISNEYLAND CALIFORNIA: The Disneyland Park, one of the top and best amusement parks in Southern California, is at 1313 Harbor Blvd in Anaheim, off 1-5 Disneyland Drive and Disney Way exits.
This World famous amusement park has over 60 major attractions, 50 shops, and 30 restaurants, among eight themed lands.
The one day park tickets covers admission to Disneyland Park, plus all rises and attractions, except arcades.

DISNEYLAND RESORT: It's an addition to the Disneyland Park next to Disneyland.
The resort is a walking campus that also includes Disney's California Adventure Park, Downtown Disney, a shopping, dining and entertainment district, and three hotels.

DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE: One of the amusement parks in Southern California that is based on the fun, golden dreams and adventures of California.
The park has four themed lands: Paradise Pier, Hollywood Pictures Backlot, the Golden State and
KNOTTS BERRY FARM THEME PARK: It's a re-creation of the Old West, plus five theme areas on 160 acres.
The Old West Ghost Town is an 1880s boom town with cowboys, gun fights, stage coaches and gold panning, plus 2 western style roller coasters.
The GhostRider, a 118 foot high wooden coaster, and the Silver Bullet, a suspended coaster with corkscrews, spirals and a 109 foot drop.
There are many other great amusement rides here. Camp Snoopy has rides for the younger crowd.

KNOTT'S SOAK CITY USA, ORANGE COUNTY: Located next to Knotts Berry Farm's theme park is 13 acres of Southern California 1950s themed water rides.
There are 19 rides including speed-tube and body-slides, Tidal Wave Bay and a lazy river. Food is avaliable, however, picnicking is permittted.

LEGOLAND CALIFORNIA: It's located in Carlsbad San Diego County, off the 1-5 exit Cannon Road E. at Legoland Drive, Carlsbad.
One of the best amusement parks in Southern California for children, it has 50 rides, including 3 roller coasters, and activities in this 128 acre gallery of structures made from multicolored plastic LEGOS, geared to the pre-teen crowd.

PACIFIC PARK SANTA MONICA: It's one of the amusement parks in Southern California that is on a pier. The famous Santa Monica Pier to be exact.
The 2 acre amusement park opened in 1997. It has 12 rides and 21 midway-style games.
You'll like the nine story solar powered Pacific Wheel, the worlds first solar powered Ferris Wheel, and the West Coaster, California's only pier coaster so far, and the Kids Cove.
RAGING WATERS SAN DIMAS: Located at 111 Raging Waters Drive in San Dimas, it's a 50 acre aquatic theme park with waterslides, speed slides, chutes, logoons, children activities pools and beaches for sunbathing.

SEAWORLD SAN DIEGO: Located on Mission Bay's shore off 1-5 at 500 Seaworld Drive, San Diego, this 189 acre aquatic adventure theme park with live shows, up close animal encounters, marine life attractions and amusement rides.
The stunning Shamu Show blends killer whale behaviors with music and choreography.
Guided tours are available. Pets are not permitted, but kennels are available.

SIX FLAGS HURRICANE HARBOR: Off the 1-5 Magic Mountain Pkwy exit next to Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia.
It's a 20 acre tropical water amusement park set among pirate treasures, playful sea creatures and ancient riuns at the lost lagoon of a forgotten world.

SIX FLAGS MAGIC MOUNTAIN: Off the 1-5 Magic Mountain Pkwy exit in Valencia.
It's a 260 acre theme park with 14 roller coasters and more than 100 amusement park rides, games and attractions.
It's one of the largest amusement parks in Southern California of it's kind, with reputedly the tallest, fastest and longest flying coaster in the world.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD: Located off the 1-5 freeway (US101) at Lankershim Blvd.
If you are arriving by Metro, there is a free shuttle accross the street from the Metro Station, to the gate entrance.
This is one of the most popular amusement parks in Southern California, so you should set aside some time to visit this fabulous studio park.
