Best Los Angeles ShoppingLos Angeles Shopping District and Shopping Streets !Here I have selected the top districts, streets, places, the best shopping areas in Los Angeles. For the choicest stores head to, where else, the Beverly Hills shopping district, and the most exclusive. Along Wilshire Boulevard west of Rodeo Drive, are Tiffany's, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barney's and Bloomingdale's. Go north on Rodeo Drive and you can check out stores like Cartier, Salvador Ferragano and Prada.
![]() Melrose Avenue Shopping DistrictDowntown Los Angeles Shopping DistrictDowntown LA is the place to go when you want to buy directly from wholesalers, often at great discounts. The Flower, Produce, Toy, Textiles, Fashion, Fabrics and Jewelry shopping districts are all clustered downtown. These are wholesalers, some of whom will sell to the public, so don't expect great presentations. Fresh Flowers are available at Wall and 7th Streets, the Fashion District, phone: (213)488-1153, is centered at East Olympic Boulevard and the Los Angeles Street. The fashion shopping district is crammed with stalls of cheap trendy clothing and knock-offs. The Produce District dominates along Central Avenue between 8th and 9th Streets. The Textile and Fabric Shopping Districts are at Wall and 8th Streets, and Toys can be found along 3rd Street. And finally the Jewelry District is located on Hill Street between 6th and 7th Street. All These places are the best Los Angeles shopping in downtown LA. The Melrose Avenue Shopping DistrictMelrose Avenue is a very popular shopping spot for the younger crowd, or people with very trendy hip tastes. It's located between La Brea Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard. Melrose is loaded with funky and hip fashions stores, boutiques and restaurants. Old Pasadena Shopping DistrictOld Pasadena is a lovely, and one of the best Los Angeles shopping district, where contemporary favorite stores such as Sur La Table, Gap and Restoration Hardware are housed in well preserved historic buildings, (reminds me of Old Town Stockholm). It's a twenty block long area along Colorado Boulevard, between Pasadena Avenue on the west, and Arroyo Parkway on the east. Walnut Street on the north, and Del Mar on the south. Phone: (626)356-9725. Third Street Promenade Santa MonicaSanta Monica's Third Street Promenade, Phone: (310)393-8355, is permanently closed to traffic between Broadway and Wilshire Boulevard. This street, one of the best los Angeles shopping streets, consists of three city blocks of shops, sidewalk cafes, and delightful street performers. The Promenade also hosts a Farmer's Market twice a week. Montana Avenue ShoppingMontana Avenue is densely packed with the most wonderful boutiques and home decor shops you could possibly wish for. Rachel, the founder of Shabby Chic, has a store on Montana Avenmue. She is very often in the store. In fact every time I was there, she was in the store. Main Street Santa MonicaMain Street is known for it's delightful restaurants and unique store mixture. It seems that celebrities really like Main Street also. I have run into several celebs in the cafes and stores here. Ben Affleck with wife Jennifer Garner and daughter in tow, was the last famous couple I saw. Brentwood Village Shopping DistrictSan Vicente Boulevard at Barrington Avenue in Brentwood consists of four blocks lined with trees and fashionable stores and cafes. On the same street is a small three story mall, Brentwood Gardens, at 11677 San Vicente Boulevard, with lots of chic shops and restaurants. Abbot Kinney Boulevard ShoppingAbbot Kinney Blvd in Venice, offers some of the funkiest and one of a kind boutiques in Los Angeles, between Westminster Avenue and Venice Boulevard. It's a fun place to spend the afternoon after visiting the Venice Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk. Larchmont Boulevard Shopping DistrictLarchmont Boulevard, one of the best Los Angeles shopping neighborhoods, is such a quaint charming shopping street between Beverly Boulevard and Third Street in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles, and it's where my husband and I live. It got its start in the early days of the 1920's. Today it's a tree lined street filled with wonderful specialty stores, sidewalk cafes, restaurants and boutiques. It's a great place to see your neighbors. I love the small town atmosphere of Larchmont Boulevard where I hang out a lot.
