There are three main exhibition areas that are absolutely fabulous. Just a bit of advice, during the school year the place is packed with school kids.
So go during afternoons or weekends if you want a more quiet atmosphere.
There are lots of interactive exhibits that are really fun for kids. You must bring your kids here if you have any.

The science exhibits are presented in themed interactive 'Worlds'. There is a Digital Jam Session in the 'Creative World', where you can write and make music, actually create music, by using computers.
The 'World of Life' exhibit is probably the most popular one, with its fantastic 50 foot human figure that explains how our bodies work from the inside out, so to speak. It's incredibly realistic. It's hard to explain, must bee seen to truly appriciate. All I can say it's a really awesome exhibit that takes your breath away. I am not putting up a picture, because I want you to be surprised, and I promise you will be.

In the 'Science Court', I dare you to pedal a high-wire bicycle across a guide wire 43 feet above the ground floor. It looks scary, but it's perfectly safe of course. This teaches you about the center of gravity. This actually is a very popular exhibit.
There is also a 'Space Docking Simulator' that gives you a virtual reality ride in space, and also simulates a zero gravity environment.
