The California State TreeThe Sequoia, The Official State Tree Of California !The sequoia was named as the official state tree of California in 1937 by the State Legislature. These redwoods are now only growing along the Pacific Coast, although they were once commonly growing all over Northern Hemisphere. The sequoia's are preserved and protected in California's state parks and national forests, and anyone can visit the parks and view these fantastic giant tall trees where they are growing. I have personally seen the redwood groves along the Pacific Coast. It's very beautiful and I recommend it highly. The Kings Canyon is home the General Sherman giant sequoia, it's a beautiful national park in California, with lodges and campgrounds. The park has groves of these giant trees, it's really spectacular to view them up close.
