The city is nicknamed Surf City Usa, so the Huntington Beaches, along with Huntington Beach Pier at the end of Main Street, are the main attractions in town.

Surfing is big business in this Orange County beach town. There are annual surfing competions that brings huge crowds, and retailers pay attention to what the surfers are wearing here, when creating new merchandise.

The Main Street is full of surf shops and numerous cafes, bars and trendy restaurants. The crowd is decidedly young and hip.

Tourism is the largest industry. The area has Mediterranean like weather, and beach-goers can go fishing, fly a kite, jog along the beach, have a picnic, enjoy sunbathing, go surfing, swimming and play volleyball.

A paved bicycle path runs the entire lenght of Huntington Beach, along the Pacific Ocean, providing scenic views of the beach and ocean for cyclists, skaters and walkers.

Huntington Beach bonfires are a local tradition, especially during summer. There are no restrictions for having a bonfire in these rings.

There are about 1,000 concrete firerings available at no charge, near parking areas. On holidays and busy summer weekends, arrive early by beach parking opening time (5AM), to be sure to get one.

Around the pier area and on Main Street there are loads of restaurants to choose from. The Bella Terra Center also have very nice eating places and outdoor cafes.

The Huntington Beach State Parks are very popular, beacuse they have concessions, rentals, and all the anemities of the California State Beaches. The Bolsa Chica State Park has an overnight campground, but the Huntington Beach State Park is not an overnight camping beach. It's only for day camping.

There is plenty of shopping to be had on Main Street, but I love the Bella Terra Shopping Center on Edinger, near the I-405 Freeway.

It's a charming Mediterranean outdoor mall with lots of high quality specialty boutiques, shops and great restaurants.
