For overnight campgrounds head over to Bolsa Chica State Beach. It's located north of the Pier on Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach. The Huntington Beach park has a nice bicycle trail and beach firerings for cooking or bonfires. People like this beach for surfing, skating and surf-fishing. It's a family friendly beach as well. It now has AT&T Wi-Fi Service which lets you use your laptop computer to access the Internet. Lifeguards patrol the beach year around, but the lifeguard towers are only staffed from Memorial Day (end of May) through Labor Day Weekend (early September). ![]() Picnic Areas and Volleyball Nets On Beach
The paved parking lot next to the sand is popular for RV vehicles. Just park your RV and set up your day camp. Snack stands and picnic tables and restrooms with flush toilets and showers, all is wheelchair accessable. On holidays you should arrive when the beach opens (5 am) to be sure to get one. Place all your beach gear around the firering to show that its taken. The beach closes at midnight and re-opens at 5 AM. Parking at the beach is $9.00 per day, the last time we checked, or $1.50 per hour. Huntington Beach is known as Surf City USA, so surfing is huge in this town with international surfing competions going on from time to time.
