Los Angeles Music Center Whenever I have visitors from out of town, I always take them for a downtown city tour of the Los Angeles attractions first, before I show them any other Southern California Attractions. Visitors to Los Angeles and Southern California are often so dazzled by the beaches, mountains and theme parks, not to mention Hollywood, that they often miss its downtown attractions.
Skyline View of The Sprawling City of Los Angeles In a three-mile radius around the original pueblo site, you can explore the beginnings of three diverse ethnic groups who greatly contributed to the city of Los Angeles development, the Mexican, the Chinese and the Japanese communities. Start your tour of the Los Angeles attractions, by walking the historic district, called El Pueblo de Los Angeles.

El Pueblo Los Angeles The Olvera Street is the first street ever built in Los Angeles. Its a wonderful place to explore and experience the colorful Mexican culture. It's one of the most popular of Los Angeles attractions and it's free.
Olvera Street Los Angeles Next stop is the Los Angeles Union Station. One of the grand train depots in America, built in 1939, it's an architectural gem, absolutely gorgeous.
Union Station Los Angeles
At Union station you can take the scenic Amtrack train ride to San Diego California. You can also ride the train up the coast to beautiful Santa Barbara. These are very beautiful rides that you can take from The Union station.
Chinatown Los Angeles After admiring and enjoying the beauty of LA's Union Station, we are off to Chinatown Los Angeles. I took my father there on his first visit to America from Sweden. He had never even seen a Chinese person, so he was fascinated with the Chinese theme buildings and the Chinese cuisine. There are a number of excellent Chinese restaurants there. I recommend Dim Sum, delicious dumplings, for lunch. You wont be sorry, they are that good.
Little Tokyo Los Angeles Now lets walk over to Little Tokyo Los Angeles. You know you are close when you start to notice Sushi Bars and Japanese boutiques. In Little Tokyo you'll find all things Japanese. I love Japanese food, culture and decor, so I always find something to bring back. There is a Japanese American National Museum there that is very interesting. I recommend it highly! Los Angeles Museums and Parks Attractions
