The original Los Angeles Farmers Market celebrated its 75th year at Third and Fairfax since 1934.

The LA Farmers Market has 80-plus stalls and nearly 25 eateries to choose from.

At patio tables, and in sit-down restaurants people gather daily to visit and talk.

For everyone, the Market has a warm atmosphere. A combination of living room, passing parade, charming neighborhood, and above all lots of fun.

The Farmers Market has been a star for 75 years, popular, friendly, attractive and actually cool.

The Famous Clock Tower At The Market

We think the Market has star power because it remains authentic. It hasn't changed over time.

It's still the best grocery store in Los Angeles, with a remarkable selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, poultry and fish, baked goods and nuts.

Du-par's Restaurant

Of the nearly 25 different eateries to choose from, here are five of our favorites.

THE GUMBO POT: Down home New Orleans cooking. Try the Gumbo Ya Ya (spicy chicken gumbo with shrimp and andouille sausage), sweet potato chips, and beignets.

PAMPAS GRILL: Brazilian barbeque. Be prepared to wait in line. The skewers of sirloin, lamb, Brazilian sausage, chicken and garlic beef, are deservedly popular.

DU-PAR'S: An old-school coffee shop that's been around since 1938. Try the legendary chicken potpie and amazing key lime pie. If you can, get here for the "Beat The Clock" meal between 4 PM and 6 PM. The time you arrive is the price you pay.

E.B's and 326 BEER and WINE: Busy, popular bars with a large selection of imported and domestic beers, respectively. Head here if you want to do some people watching.

SINGAPORE's BANANA LEAF: Singapore, Malay, Indonesian and Indian cuisine. Their must-try dish is the flavorful beef rendang (spicy coconut, chile, ginger beef curry), which is served on a banana leaf. Fantastic!
