A Santa Monica City Guide

The City of Santa Monica is located on bluffs above the Santa Monica Beaches of the Pacific ocean. Santa Monica enjoys cooler weather climate than rest of Los Angeles, thanks to the ocean breezes. The Santa Monica Beaches are a favorite Southern California destination for people from further inland.

The Santa Monica Pier is very popular both with tourists and the locals. There are wonderful restaurants, souvenir shops, a psychic reader, arcades and of the course the fun Pacific Park. Free concerts are held at the pier in the summer. We love the Thursday nights dance to live music. Also free, isn't that great!

There are lots of great and wonderful Hotels and Accommodations to stay at in Santa Monica, but there are a few hotels that's my very favorite places to stay when having a Santa Monica getaway vacation, and that is the luxurious and elegant Casa Del Mar Santa Monica, and the charming Shutters On The Beach hotel. I also recommend the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel.
These three Beachfront Hotels are the accomodations in Santa Monica. There are less expensive and cheap hotels in Santa Monica California, but they are not on the beach, and can't compare with these beautiful and luxurious Beach Resorts.

It's a fabulous luxury hotel right on the beach with walking distance to the Santa Monica Pier, restaurants, nightclubs and shopping.
The Loews have lots of amenities such as a luxurious spa and a fitness center, as well as a fabulous pool area overlooking the beach and the ocean.

The City of Santa Monica California is full of dining places,Santa Monica Restaurants and cuisines to suite any appetite. There is no shortage of dining spots that for sure.

My favorite place to eat in Santa Monica is at The Lobster restaurant close to the Pier. I just love their food, and their lobster dish is the best I have ever eaten.
The food is fabulous, and their open air dining deck with a panoramic ocean view, makes the whole experience of eating here wonderful and romantic.
The restaurant has huge glass windows on three sides, so it doesn't matter where you sit, you will have a view of the beautiful Pacific Ocean. If you like waterfront dining and great seafood, you'll love this place.

There are a lots of things to do and see in the City of Santa Monica. It's bluff top location overlooking the Pacific Beaches is very scenic and beautiful. Great shopping and fun things to see and explore.

Santa Monica Palisades Park on the bluffs above the beaches, overlooks the ocean and runs the lenght of the city.

It's a great place for a walk or a picnic, and it's also a perfect spot for sunset watching.

The fabulous views of the Ocean Beaches and the Santa Monica coastline makes this one of my favorite parks in Southern California.

This is also a great place to watch the fourth of july fireworks displays, that the city puts on every year. It's quite spectacular to watch it light up the sky over the ocean.

Santa Monica Pier

Santa Monica Pier, one of the great Santa Monica California attractions. It's a landmark structure that dates back to 1908. There are great ocean view Santa Monica Restaurants, kiddie rides, the famous ferris wheel, and a penny arcade that is very popular with the younger crowd.

Below the Pier, rollerbladers and bicycles wind along the miles long Santa Monica Bike Path.

The Santa Monica Beach, the site of the first Muscle Beach (later "stolen" by Venice Beach) still has it's gymnastics highbars, rings and parallel bars sunk into the sand for friendly workouts

The City of Santa Monica California is the commercial center for Los Angeles coastal towns, and still manages to attract tourists and visitors as a beachside Southern California Resort. There are a number of top notch Hotels in Santa Monica, some which are Beachfront Hotels. They actually sit right on the sand. How great is that!

Santa Monica Shopping can be an adventure in itself. The santa Monica Promenade, also called the Third Street Promenade,, is a very popular walking street that's lined with shops, restaurants and sidewalk cafes. There is ongoung entertainment especially on week-ends and during the summer season.

Another santa Monica shopping mecca is the trendy Montana Boulevard with it's upscale boutiques and fine restaurants. Then there is Main Street, which is also a very popular shopping for shopping and dining.

The City of Santa Monica California with it's many attractions, should defenitely be on your Los Angeles intinery for a Southern California Destination Vacation.
