Silver Strand State Beach

The Silver Strand Beach Ca on the Coronado Island peninsula in San Diego Southern California has calm, warm waters that are perfect for swimming and is very popular with families and kids.

We think that the Coronado Silver Strand beach is one of San Diego's best beach destinations, and one of the best California State Beaches.

It's a wonderful beach for RV camping, or for a Motor Home vacation stay. But also for swimming, surfing, boating, water-skiing, volleyball and picnicking.

If you like angle fishing, there are perch, corbina, grunion and yellow-fin croaker in the ocean.

There are 4 large parking lots with room for 1,000 vehicles, and restrooms and cold water showers on each sides of the beach park.

Beach restrooms are for day users only, as per coastal regulations, RV campers and Motor Homes must be fully self-contained.

There is a bay side to the Silver Strand Beach with great views of San Diego. It's linked by 3 pedestrian tunnels, from the parking lots, that go under the highway to the bay area side of the Silver Strand Beach State Park.

You'll find ramadas, picnic tables and BBQ pits there. It's a great place to spend a day at the beach.

No dogs are allowed on the beach, in the tunnels, or on the bay side. However, dogs are allowed to be in the day use and campground parking lots. All dogs must be leashed no longer than 6 feet.

The front gate opens at 8AM every day all year. Camping is only for self-contained RV's, Motor Homes or Trailers.

Per Coastal regulations, vehicles that are not self-contained will be turned away at the gate.
