Things To Do In Southern California

Looking for fun things to do in Southern California? Here are some great outings and day trip getaways, or weekend escapes that will take you to the mountains, the desert, endless beaches and more, all in less than a 3 hour drive.

I recommend all of the following trips and destinations for a good days outing in Southern California.

The Southern California desert is spectacular in the spring, with warm days and a stunning show of California wild flowers.

The mountain lakes are great for water activities during the summer, or skiing during the winter.

The wonderful mild climate of Southern California, makes the ocean beaches a year round destination delight.

Plan to spend a full day for a trip to Catalina Island. It's one of our favorite Los Angeles getaways.

One of the things to do in Southern California is to visit the desert playground of the famous.

Palm Spring is about 110 miles east of Los Angeles, and it's one of the most popular resort areas in Southern California.

The peak season runs from November through April, but spring and fall is also very pleasant.

Santa Barbara is a fabulous seacoast city in Southern California, and one of our own favorite romantic getaways in Southern California.

You should plan to spend a full day for a visit to Santa Barbara, 95 miles north of Los Angeles.

Plan to leave early for a day in the San Bernardino mountains.Big Bear is one of Southern California mountains most popular resort areas year round.

Beautiful Alpine scenery, and activities such as boating, swimming or hiking, and skiing in the winter.

One of the most charming Southern California seaside towns, Laguna Beach is a very fun place to spend a day, or a whole weekend at.

There is so much to do in Laguna. The town is full of great art galleries, and upscale boutiques and wonderful restaurants to dine in.

The Ocean Terrace restaurant at Hotel Laguna is our favorite place for lunch. Try it, I'll guarantee you will love it.

Hollywood and Highland Center

The corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue, nearby the Chinese and El Capitan theaters, has become on of the busiest tourist destinations in Los Angeles, and with good reason.

A number of the most famous Hollywood museums are all clustered around this area, not to mention the famous Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

Hollywood offers lots of fun things to do in Southern California.

The Historic El Pueblo Of Los Angeles

El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument is located in the heart of downtown LA, home to the oldest surviving structure in Los Angeles, the Avila Adobe house, built in 1818.

Part of the El Pueblo is also the oldest street in Los Angeles, the Olvera Street. It's a wonderful place to stroll and enjoy the Mexican music and culture. We love the Mexican restaurants there.

Universal Studios Hollywood

The Universal Studios Tour and Theme Park is one of the major attractions in Los Angeles and Southern California, for both tourists and locals.

It's a fun place to spend a day in Southern California, and especially great for kids and teenagers.

Shamo The Killer Whale At Sea World San Diego

This is the largest marine animal park in the World. Walk through a World of sharks and see live killer whales perform all day long.

The Venice Boardwalk In Los Angeles

Voted as one of the most fun things to do in Southern California, a visit to Venice Beach should be a must. The Venice boardwalk has five blocks of beachfront entertainment.

There are musicians, magicians, body builders of extreme kind, fortune tellers, you name it. Plus great beachside cafes to sit and take it all in. A fun place for sure.

Rodeo Drive Shopping In Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills is home to the wealthiest people in Southern California, maybe the World. Shopping on Rodeo Drive is truly top class.

Every well known designer in the World has a shop in downtown Beverly Hills, and Rodeo Drive is at the heart of high class shoppng in Beverly Hills and it's surely one of the most unique things to do in Southern California.

Disneyland California

Southern California is home to the best beaches in the state of California. Most people visiting the southland would want to spend at least one day at one of the best and fun beaches in Southern California.

The Grove Shopping Center In Los Angeles

LA's malls offer a complete shopping experience with tons of well known stores to browse and spend money in.
